I am Aki, a ceramic artist.
Born in Hiroshima, Japan.
Currently based in Florence, Italy.
A graduate of Osaka University of Arts, Department of Design. After moving to Florence in 2022, Aki rediscovered
her passion for ceramics.
I creates pieces that embody the quiet balance between my Japanese roots and my life in Italy. Each work is hand-carved using the 面取り(kuninuki)
technique—shaping the clay until it reveals its most beautiful, natural form.
My goal is to craft vessels that bring a sense of calm and gentle light into everyday life— like
the soft glow of moonlight that connects distant places, hearts, and memories.
I carefully select and prepare the clay, ensuring proper consistency for each unique piece.
Each piece is thrown by hand on the potter's wheel, shaped with precision and care.
After drying, pieces are bisque fired, glazed by hand, and then high-fired to create durable, food-safe pottery.
